Elite Pipe Welding

The Elite Pipe Welding Program prepares students for journeyman level positions in commercial and industrial pipe welding. Welders will be trained utilizing the SMAW (stickwelding) and GTAW (TIG welding) welding processes. These types of welders can be found in various areas, such as industrial pre-fabrication shops, paper mills, refineries, power plants, chemical plants, food processing plants, oil and gas pipelines, and more.

Welding Processes

  • SMAW – Shielded Metal Arc Welding (stick)

  • GTAW – Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (TIG)

The Pipe Program Includes

  • Program Orientation and Safety Orientation, Including OSHA-10 Training

  • SMAW E7018 in Flat, Horizontal and Vertical Positions

  • SMAW “T” Joint Fillet Welds using E6010 and E7018

  • SMAW Butt Joint Open Root Groove Welds using E6010 and E7018

  • SMAW Groove Welds on 2”, 3”, and 4” Pipe using E6010 and E7018

  • SMAW Fillet Welds on 2” socket weld fittings using E7018

  • GTAW Groove Welds on 2”, 3”, and 4” Pipe using ER70S6 Filler Material

  • GTAW Fillet Welds on 2” Socket Weld Fitting using ER70S6 Filler Material

  • Combo Pipe Welding SMAW and GTAW on 2” pipe

  • Field Ready Welds SMAW on 2” through 12” on Outside Field Welding Simulator

  • SMAW and/or GTAW Restricted welds in field welding simulators

  • Certification Test

  • Job Placement Assistance

Duration

  • 760 clock hours

  • Total Program Cost: $22,100

  • Monday – Thursday (6:30 AM – 5:00 PM)
